I saw you perform "Soulmate" on Dick Clark's New Years Eve Show. I wanted to say that this was one of the most beautiful songs I have heard in the last 20 years! Your lyrics, voice and band combine to make awesome music!

I am purchasing this CD this week. Keep up the great job you are doing of writing and performing inspiring music. I believe your music brings a sense of happiness and optimism in a complex and sometimes disturbing world!

Happy New Year and God Bless!

A New Years Note From Natasha

0
Happy new year one and all!!!
Its the last year of this decade. Woohoo!!
Some of u probably caught me on the Dick Clark Rocking New Years Eve show. I love that show.
It definitely helps with the big count down.

I'm in New Zealand now. I'm here for a couple of weeks to do a bit of writing. It is such an inspiring place to write music. I love coming here as often as I can, usually once a year to fuel up on ideas for my next album.
All of my family is here. Although I was born and brought up in the UK (the reason I have a London accent), I have always felt a deep sense of belonging in New Zealand.
This is the reason I have ended up calling myself a briwi - a British kiwi.
London was always my home and I love it so much but New Zealand is my country of origin and when I'm here if feels like I get in touch with a deeper part of myself.
I like to stick my bare feet in the sand and let the ocean breeze mess up my hair. I love to go fishing with my grandad, to find out secret recipies from my two nana's, discuss life and spirituality with my other grandad. Just to be still and breath in the spectacular nature moving and alive all around.

The is no place like London either don't get me wrong. I've actually been quite intensely home sick for it in recent months. I love the innate fashion sense I see in so many people, how something is always happening. British humour, rich with its dark sarcastic comedy is something I drink in while away. Little Britain and the original office are my life lines. The long history of genius rock bands and more recently funky songwriting female singers that the UK produces have really been influencing overseas for good reason. Its been nice to discover while in the USA during this bunch of album promo that lots of people here really appreciate these things too.

I find myself this new years feeling nostalgic, grateful, hesitant for the unknown, yet hopeful, and now because of the holiday break washing off the weariness that we all feel at the years end; I am starting to feel up for new adventures. I like that feeling. Its a fresh new year. There's no knowing how it will turn out. Whether there's ups or downs I intend to ride it out like the valiant little canoe in the waves I'm looking out at right now from my house.

Happy holidays!
Whether its sunny or cloudy right now around you, I wish u peace of mind, grace, and hope because its a new year; a fresh start.

A Holiday Note from Natasha

0
So the holidays are approaching! Its jingle bells all the way until newyears now. The Christmas cheer all around is unavoidable. I'm on mylast week of promo before the year ends, -its a week of radio shows.

I'm singing at Columbus, Boston, Florida, Atlanta.
Artistsall over America show their gratitude to the radio stations byperforming at their xmas shows. Z100 does a spectacular jingle ball notto be missed in NY today. Head down there tonight if u can. Its afantastic show.

We honestly would not have been where we aretoday career-wise if it wasn't for radio who were the very first to getbehind us. They are the reason that u know or even heard about ourmusic.
These last two weeks in Dec are the ones that artists keepavailable purely for radio in their diaries, because they know howimportant it is to show gratitude to the most important people -Theradio stations and the listeners. These. Shows are where finally we getto meet the fans personally. Which goes way beyond the thrill ofreading successful figures on paper. Actually having your fans singyour song with you word for word at these gigs is when u know u havemade something special.
Its a connection between people that feels incredible.

Iguess all the xmas stuff around - the carols, the reminders to buygifts, the xmas movies- are starting to rub off their magic on me. Itsmaking me want to be grateful and thankful.
Everyone I know can'twait for their work year to end so they can have a much deserved break. The economy is low and it sucks because most people deserve so muchmore especially when we have worked so hard all year.
I hope theseholidays can be for you all a time of regrouping, and refreshing. Alittle gap from the craziness. A time to remember our blessings.
I feel the urge right now to be thankful.

-I am thankful for where I am today.
-For what the journey has taught me so far.
-to all my fans
-for my family and close friends.
-For the fact that history has been made during my life.
-the first black president is certainly something I feel proud to be witnessing..
-iwant to thank and honour all the people in my team for being suchsteadfast support. My band, Das Management, Wilhelmina models, CAA,emi, my co-writers, epic records, as well as every other department ofmy record company sonyBMG, particularly my radio peeps, you guys workso passionately.
-a big thank you also to the internet department too. you are sooo important.
-thank u to the tv shows that plugged my record this year. NBC, Ellen, the Today show, American Idol, AMAS, Lipstick jungle, chelsea lately,Craig Fergusson, Jay Leno, Regis and Kelly, MTV, VH1, theBatcherlorette, ABC, Degrassi, nicklodean, lipstick jungle (I'm on ittonight by the way), Fashion rocks.

Also
Clear Channel, verizon, live nation, NFL,
Thanks to all those back in uk who are holding down the fort, keeping the coals burning while I've been away.

Jimmy kimmel, its still my dream to go on your show, and I haven't got to yet. U are funny as hell. I wish I was that funny.
Imet your sister. She said unwritten is her song cause she always hasdirty windows :) she is funny too. I guess talent runs in your family.

NowI've started, I realize there are still so many more to thank. That'sall I have time to mention right now cos I'm on the way to pop into thez100 jingle ball. I guess it"ll have to be continued....
Man, thislooks like album credits. But, you know, remembering and honouring howwonderful all of those mentioned have been, really feels good and isgetting me in the mood for some serious celebration.

Thank u lastly to everyone of my online friends. You are the reason for all of this.

Love and merriness to you
